Wild
 

 The wild type axolotls tend to be a grey dark greyish green with black and olive mottling.  They can have speckles of gold (iridophores) and a pale colored belly.  These specimens are special because they have the same pattern and colors as those found in the wild. 

The wild type is the oldest axolotl type known in the pet trade.  Depending on the specimen, they can be mostly black, grey, or even a lighter yellow green.  This morph tends to have purple or maroon gill filaments.  They eyes are dark with golden irises. 

 

This morph is great for those wanting a more naturualistic tank.  They are so cute and remind me of little green aliens or monsters!
